Man, 20, charged with homicide after victim found fatally shot in Edmonton park

A 20-year-old man has been charged with a September homicide after pedestrians found a 30-year-old gunshot victim in Nellie McClung Park.
Brandon Lee Cardinal, 30, was found injured in the river valley park around 9 a.m. Sept. 14, police said in a Friday news release.
After Emergency Medical Services (EMS) arrived on scene, Cardinal was declared dead.
The Edmonton Medical Examiner completed an autopsy on Tuesday, Sep. 17, confirming Cardinal died of as a result of a gunshot wound. The manner of death was confirmed to be homicide.
Police arrested a man on Thursday in connection to the case.
Kellen Lee Carr-Mandrusiak is charged with second-degree murder.
