A look at Saturday’s Edmonton weather from Environment Canada.
It’s 2 C at the Edmonton Blatchford weather station early Saturday morning with 14 km/h winds gusting to 30 km/h out of the west, northwest.
Weather is pitching a fit so be careful out there.
Early morning rain will soon turn to snow while northwest winds will gust up to 40 km/h. The bluster will dissipate in the afternoon but the temperature will dip from a high of 2 C down to -3 C with a wind chill of minus 5.
The winter snarl will continue overnight, with more snow and winds whipping to 15 km/h and a low of -5 C. With wind chill. Sunday includes more flurries, churning, but this is all for the sake of a possible 6 C high with sunshine Monday.
And that light is forecast to continue its shine mid-week with highs of 8 C. In January. Shine that light.
For now though, be forewarned. RCMP are stressing that driving conditions across northern and central Alberta continue to worsen, with freezing rain in some areas causing multiple collisions. Driving conditions are dicey so avoid travel if possible.
