She last played two nights in Edmonton ten years ago on her Prismatic World Tour.
Originally a gospel singer, Perry moved to L.A. when she was 17, kicking off one of the best-selling careers in music history starting with her 2008 album One of the Boys, which exploded with hits I Kissed a Girl and Hot n Cold.
No. 1 singles California Gurls featuring Snoop Dogg, E.T. with Kanye West, Firework, Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.) and Teenage Dream followed in 2010 on the album also bearing that autobiographical name, ultimately leading to the second-most Diamond-certified singles, including 2013’s Dark Horse and Roar, for any female artist after Rihanna.
Albums Prism, Witness and Smile led up to Perry’s two-year Vegas residency ending last year, followed by this September’s drop of her seventh album, 143 — which represents the phrase “I love you” and is Perry’s mystical “angel number.”
