HOUSTON (AP) — Kintavious Dozier’s 20 points helped Grambling defeat Texas Southern 66-63 on Saturday night.
Dozier also contributed six rebounds for the Tigers (12-13, 9-3 Southwestern Athletic Conference). Jonathan Aku shot 6 of 8 from the field to add 12 points. Antwan Barnett shot 4 for 6, including 2 for 4 from beyond the arc to finish with 10 points.
The Tigers (9-14, 7-5) were led in scoring by Deon Stroud, who finished with 14 points. PJ Henry added 12 points and three steals for Texas Southern. Kenny Hunter also had 10 points, eight rebounds and two steals.
Both teams play Monday. Grambling visits Prairie View A&M and Texas Southern hosts Southern.
