Rohit Group, an Edmonton-based company that encompasses residential, commercial and health care infrastructure building, land development and rental living, has more than made its mark the city’s landscape. Ever since Radhe and Krishna Gupta first envisioned a more innovative brand of building company, Rohit (named for their son, now the company president) has pushed boundaries and set new standards in the construction industry.
Rapid expansion across Western Canada hasn’t shifted the attention away from its work in Edmonton. Rohit has six new communities taking shape in the Capital Region and they’re busy rolling out new phases, show homes and amenities.
Starling South
This picture-perfect spot nestled among the rolling hills west of Anthony Henday Drive is an extension of Rohit’s successful Starling at Big Lake community. Phase 1 was launched this year and more lots will be released in 2025. Daisy Lieu, Rohit division marketing manager, says buyers have many options to build a home on the natural wetland or Horseshoe Creek.
“There are 57 lots to come in Phase 2 and 48 in Phase 3. Many back onto amenities like the ravine, creek and greenway, which offer incredible views. It’s a wonderful opportunity for people who want something unique, quiet and connected to the environment,” she says.
Builders are New Era Luxury Homes, Gill Built Homes, Happy Planet Homes, Mutti Homes and Singh Builders. Watch for more show homes to open next year.
Cherot in St. Albert
Inspired by the elegance and charm of the French countryside, the boutique-style community of Cherot is a nod to St. Albert’s pioneer roots. The architecture is French Modern and French Farmhouse, exclusive to the neighbourhood.
More than 50 new lots, including scenic pond-backing lots, are being added to Phase 3, while Phase 4 has another 61 to be released in 2025. On the books for Cherot is a future recreation centre/amenities campus to be built south of Villeneuve Road on a 25-acre parcel donated to St. Albert by Rohit. The biggest news for the community this year was the approval of the Lakeview Business District, which will bring 5,000 new jobs to the area.
The builder group is Bedrock Homes, Blackstone Homes, Rohit Homes, San Rufo Homes, Justin Gray Homes and Montorio Homes, building detached and attached product.
Cambrian in Sherwood Park
This Rohit gem was Building Industry and Land Development Edmonton Metro’s 2024 Best New Community of the Year. It spans 300-acres of varying densities and just like Sherwood Park itself, is a highly desirable place for families to call home, Lieu says.
“It’s been well received and has some good price points with a variety of product types. There are eight kilometres of scenic trails on Oldman Creek, multiple playgrounds and our Corralero Dog Park opened this spring,” she says. A new arena will be built in Cambrian in the next few years.
Rohit added 244 new lots to the mix in Phase 2 with 150 ravine lots coming in 2025. The community has a future school site and a new pond by Crestview Park set to launch.
There are single-family, duplex and townhomes in Cambrian from award-winning builders Art Homes, Bedrock Homes, Gill Built Homes, Rohit Homes and San Rufo Homes.
Kinglet Gardens
Surrounded by nature and brimming with wetlands and parks, Kinglet Gardens is an integral member of the Big Lake community. The focal point is the community garden, which recently wrapped up a successful year.
“The community garden was in full bloom this year giving residents an opportunity to learn more about horticulture, grow food and create social ties,” says Lieu.
Rohit’s commercial division officially opened Big Lake Quarters with the first phase of retail services for nearby residents. On the building side, new pond-side lots were added to the community inventory with more expected next year in Phase 6.
The builder group of Art Homes, Blackstone Homes, Rohit Homes and Victory Homes are building front attached and rear detached garage single-family homes, duplexes and townhomes.
Woodhaven
Buildout of this award-winning community on Edmonton’s western ravines continues. Comprised solely of single-family homes, Woodhaven’s next exciting chapter will appropriately be called Woodhaven Ravines with show homes scheduled to open in the fall 2025.
“It’s the continuation of a successful community,” Lieu says.
Currently on offer in Woodhaven Edgemont and the enclave of Woodhaven Pointe are a selection of ravine and traditional lots, including front garage and zero lot rear garage lots, and a select number of pie-shaped lots. The builder group includes Art, Blackstone, Gill Built and Supertec Homes.
Arbours of Keswick
Located in the Windermere district of southwest Edmonton, Arbours of Keswick is Rohit’s premier master-planned community centered around the Gordon King Pond. Amenities such as schools, a church, stores, playgrounds and walking trails are well established. There’s easy access to Anthony Henday and offers one of Rohit’s most diverse offering of home types. New lots came to market this year in Phase 7 and more are coming in Phase 8.
Builders include Art Homes, Fekete Homes, Happy Planet Homes, Kanvi Homes, Kimberley Homes, Rohit Homes, and Victory Homes. Home types include estate, rear attached single family homes, streetscape single family, park-backing duplex, and town homes.
